About the Role
EDABC is happy to announce an opening for the position of Program Manager. This position is responsible for active membership/stakeholder engagement, development and implementation of programmatic strategies including research, reports and events across organizational verticals. As well as, supporting fundraising activity including reviewing, recommending and managing grants. The Program Manager will be working on EDABC’ priorities of connecting, convening, and catalyzing people, resources, and opportunities to ensure Black communities are positioned to prosper, grow, and thrive.
Candidates will have a personal commitment and connection with our mission and cornerstones; work well in ambiguity and managing change; and proactively identify opportunities to advance our mission while remaining grounded in the day-to-day responsibilities. They will need to be able to apply principles of inclusive economics and economic justice across all of their work, as well as integrate concepts of strategy formation and refinement, systems thinking, complexity, adaptive/emergent strategy, worldviews and power.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will:
Feel comfortable engaging in complex conversations around economic equity and the EDABC’s strategies
Be skilled at critical thinking, problem solving, and an ability to make decisions and see paths forward even when there is considerable ambiguity
Managing the seamless, all-inclusive planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and events.
Provide administrative and technical support for all initiatives driven by EDABC’s membership, committees, and executive staff.
Excel in developing relationships with various partners and stakeholders; producing written summaries and recommendations; managing multiple projects with consistency, timeliness and accuracy; and exhibiting a desire to learn
Have a deep understanding of the communities we serve, including communities of color, rural communities, and neighborhoods or regions that face the greatest economic barriers
Have a broad understanding of the social determinants of economic injustice, community-based work, and policy/advocacy.
Be able to work both independently and collaboratively, within and across teams
Have motivation to identify issues, innovate solutions, and continuously improve practice
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The ability to thrive when there is ambiguity, remain composed when there are priority and deadline fluctuations, and withstand the tests of a rapidly changing environment with resilience and resolve.
Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods associated with the development of strategies and objections of a program.
Proficiency in using and troubleshooting project management software, EDABC tools, equipment, and other relevant technology.
Knowledge of functionality and operability of communications systems (i.e. slack, zoom, google meet)
Analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills to work on short deadlines and resolve critical issues.
Ability to work well under pressure, exercise discretion and sound judgment while independently solving problems.
Excellent computer skills (e.g., word processing, presentation slides, spreadsheets, data management, etc.).
Highly refined and proficient communication ability.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Program Managers are actively engaged in their assigned regions and communities, which requires a minimum of 40% travel throughout Colorado. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. A bachelor’s degree that prepares for the work of community change, advancing inclusive economics and economic justice is required.
Additionally, qualified candidates must have five years’ experience in the nonprofit, public, or business sectors. Preference will be given to applicants who have extensive experience in economic development, policy and advocacy on Colorado communities and statewide issues.
The starting range for this position is $57,000 – $79,410 per year, paid as salaried, exempt and is eligible for all EDABC benefits. This is a full-time position in Denver, Colorado. We work on a hybrid schedule of M/T/W/TH in-office (required) and Friday remote. Occasional travel may be required (<10%).
